Litigo Pinot Noir
From vines on Crystallum's own Shaw’s Mountain vineyard just outside the Hemel en Aarde valley. The Litigo, meaning ‘discussion’ in legal terms, is a wine made in partnership with lawyer Eben van Wyk.
Latest release (2025)
The fifth harvest from our Shaw’s mountain vineyard — and the maturity shows. Damson, mulberry and sage define the nose, while the palate is dense with a decadent core of fruit, notably cranberry and black forest cake. Dry, black tea-like tannin and a lifted, spearminty freshness brings length and brightness to counter the opulent fruit profile towards a long finish.
Vinification
Naturally fermented with 25% of the fruit de-stemmed and the remainder left as whole clusters. Extraction is kept to a minimum during active fermentation with a total time of 4 weeks on the skins.
